Your multi season layering hack. Weatherproof waxed outer quilted with cosy British wool insulation. Made for us in Great Yarmouth using cloth from Dundee and quilted in Bolton.

The Wax n Wool is versatile, British-weather-ready and packed with made-right-here provenance that will leave you waxing lyrical to everyone who compliments your HebTroCo getup. Wear it under a jacket in winter as a stealthy extra heat boosting layer. Over a t-shirt on a summer’s eve to ward off the chill off and maximise your carry space.
Made for us in Great Yarmouth using cloth from Dundee that’s quilted in Bolton with British wool insulation.
Halley Stevensons are our source once again for this vest’s fantastic waxed cotton outer. It’s a plant-based wax, not wax derived from petroleum or beeswax. Halleys are using olive oil, reclaimed from food waste, as the base for this finish.
Highly weather resistant and re-proofable!
On the first few wears it will feel oily to touch but will develop a soft feel and slightly brushed appearance that catches the light like a peach!
The cosy quilted 100% cotton tartan lining has been quilted for us by Caledonian Quilting in Bolton with HD Wool insulation from British sheep. More about that further down the page.
100% organic combed cotton ribbed collar knitted in Leicestershire. A nice finishing touch.

Proper British insulation
We’ve always focussed on working locally and using the best quality natural materials. With this in mind we’ve avoided synthetic insulation or goose down, opting instead for a locally sourced wool and corn starch-derived PLA insulation, called HD Wool, which comes from Saltaire in Yorkshire.
It’s completely biodegradable, naturally warm, breathable and odour inhibiting. The wool is sourced from exclusively British farms and is Woolkeepers® certified.
