At HebTroCo we have always aspired to develop garments that are in it for the long haul. Styles that will remain with you through the highs and lows, developing their character and provenance as time and wear works its magic.
The Lucky13 is a serious player in the denim jacket game and we hope one day will be part of someone’s vintage hauls. Its provenance starts with the cloth; tough raw selvedge denim from Italian masters Candiani, woven on vintage shuttle looms prized for their yield of quality characterful denim (more about that here). Then onto Leicester to Bob and his team who skilfully and meticulously cut and sew the Lucky13 jacket together using their specialist denim machines and decades of experience.
The finished piece is a triumph in its construction and design. Longevity in its DNA and practicality in its function elevate the Lucky13 to a calibre of denim jacket that one day could end up being found again on a rail in a vintage shop.
Denim from Candiani
Candiani are masters in their craft, producing some of the world’s best selvedge denim.
Environmental sustainability is at the forefront of all stages of production at Candiani. Their dye process is micro-plastics-free, they use solar power and water recycling, and all their cotton is BCI certified.
Most of the selvedge we use is Regenagri© certified denim (which supports regenerative agriculture) or 100% Organic Cotton. We are proud to be one of the first brands in the world to use Regenagri© denim cloth to make our jeans.
What is Selvedge denim?
Selvedge is a premium denim woven only on vintage shuttle looms.
Compared to modern projectile looms, selvedge looms are smaller, slower and very noisy, but the character and durability of the denim they produce is unmatched.
The loom’s low yield is why selvedge is considered a premium denim and not the go-to choice for mass-market jeans.
The word “selvedge” comes from “self-edged,” which describes how the loom finishes the edges of the denim.

Product Care
The Lucky13 jacket is made from raw selvedge denim. Please follow the wash and care instructions included with your order to avoid f*cking it up.
Raw denim is not colourfast and requires special attention when laundering.

This is the best denim jacket I’ve ever owned, it’s a much better fit than the Hebtro black denim biker jacket. As a big guy. XXL’s are often tight. But this is perfect. The zips stylish & utility pockets useful. 10/10

Got it for christmas. Well made, got a medium, tailored fit, if you are after a looser jacket go up a size. Usual quality with hebtroco. I would like it to have a wee bit more room around the bottom button, it sinches in a bit. I see the model in the photos here has the bottom button undone. Pleased overall.

Holy cow…this jacket is gorgeous. It has a wonderful heft to it. The quality of the denim is astonishing. The zippers add an element of badass that is far above what I should be attempting, so I’m sure this jacket will make me wildly popular with the cool kids.
If, like me, you are a lady person equipped with hips and boobs that mean your body isn’t a straight line, you may want to consider sizing up. The sleeves run a little long, and fall exactly like they do in the picture of Ed above.
