Keep the joy of winter pockets alive. Wear a vest.

We love pockets at HebTroCo and invest a lot of time in designing jackets with decent ones… so what’s the craic when it’s summertime and too toasty for the long sleeves?

Be the best and grab a vest!

You’ll get all the perks of decent pockets and if the weather turns to shit your core won’t get cold. It’s Britain… all it takes is that one cloud. Be prepared!

Our vests fit like a sleeveless jacket and can be worn with layers.

We call them vests because waistcoats are more fitted to the body and gilet is a daft French name.

Origins of the Echo Vest

A worker on Japanese railways in the 1970s would recognise the plethora of practical pockets on the Echo vest. Our design takes details from a vintage work jacket in our archive just like the ones they would have been wearing on the trains.

We’ve dropped the sleeves and created a denim vest designed with the features from a 1970s Japan Railway jacket. Named after the Kodama (translates as Echo) bullet train service that has run in Japan since 1958. Rail workers wore sleeved cotton work jackets with the same features plus a pocket for a watch. We added an inside chest pocket to replace this. A shining example of style that comes with a great purposeful design that we’re brought up to date in denim.

More about the make...

100% Regenagri® certified cotton

Regenerative Agriculture is the antidote to damaging, intensive farming. Farming with nature. Not just avoiding synthetic fertiliser and pesticides but using extra ecological practices.

Intensive farming leads to soil degradation. Regenerative agriculture is a way of farming that builds and improves soil fertility, whilst sequestering and storing atmospheric CO2, increasing on farm diversity and improving water and energy management.

Product Care

Your Echo Vest is made from raw selvedge denim. Please follow the wash and care instructions included with your order to avoid f*cking it up. Raw denim is not colourfast and requires special attention when laundering.

For the best fades, washing less often will yield better results. Take a look at our denim care online guide for a comprehensive overview on what’s required.

Absolutely loving the Echo Vest. The quality and detail are second to none. I’ve worn it a few times this week (now the temperature has dropped) and have received positive comments from complete strangers each time!!
It’s really versatile and I’ll be wearing it in the Autumn over shirts and my leather. Could we have one with sleeves for the Winter now. Ta

This is practical Japanese style cut with Calderdale cool that only you fellas could pull off so well. Proper secure outer pockets unlike most vests these days, no fear of stuff falling out . Collar finishes it off nicely without getting in the way. Can’t wait to batter it and see it age.
