Our roomiest jeans. Loose straight leg for a fuller look without being baggy. 15oz selvedge denim in a broken twill weave. Enough room for big thighs and calf muscles. Dark indigo in a bluer shade than our other jeans.
BRTR is the ‘big brother’ of our classic GVNR fit that gives you even more room in the hip, thigh, knee and leg opening. Designed by Amelia on our cutting table in Calderdale. Cut and sewn for us in London. More about that further down the page.
When we launched the GVNR some of our friends commented that the fit wasn’t loose enough in the leg for them – for some it was a preference, others it was down to their supersized leg shape. One mate in particular, Rille the Swede, sent us a pair of old worn out jeans to show the kind of fit he wanted and in a quality he couldn’t find anymore. This is something we see time and time again. People yearning after well-constructed jeans made from substantial denim, just like they used to be. When mainstream menswear began the race to make cheaper jeans they cut costs by using thin denim, often adding stretch fibres to the cloth and opting for mass produced styles, made with less attention to detail. We’re bucking that trend with all our jeans and the BRTR fills the gap in our range of styles.
What is broken twill?
Denim is a twill-weave fabric. There are lots of different ways it can be woven. The BRTR denim is broken twill, famous for its distinctive zigzag pattern. It was originally developed in the 60s to combat an old issue where denims would twist after washing, losing their original shape. Twisty denim isn’t much of an issue these days but the demand for broken twill is still strong. We love the way it looks and its place in denim history. You can see the weave really clearly on the inside of the jeans. Get up close and lose yourself in its hypnotic pattern.

Unwashed denim in its raw form. Wear in your own fades. -

to limit first wash shrinkage. None in the waist. Up to 1" in leg length (we include an extra inch to allow for this). -

GOTS 100% Organic Cotton
Global Organic Textile Standard sets the bar for sustainably and ethically sourced organic cotton.
It is the most widely recognised voluntary certification for organic textiles. This stringent standard requires complete supply chain traceability, strong social compliance, and environmental management practices while banning the use of GMOs and highly hazardous chemicals.
Cotton arrives in its raw form at the Candiani mill. They manage every aspect of its transformation from raw fibre into denim cloth.

Most of the selvedge we use is Regenagri© certified denim (which supports regenerative agriculture) or 100% Organic Cotton. We are proud to be one of the first brands in the world to use Regenagri© denim cloth to make our jeans.
What is Selvedge denim?
Selvedge is a premium denim woven only on vintage shuttle looms.
Compared to modern projectile looms, selvedge looms are smaller, slower and very noisy, but the character and durability of the denim they produce is unmatched.
The loom’s low yield is why selvedge is considered a premium denim and not the go-to choice for mass-market jeans.
The word “selvedge” comes from “self-edged,” which describes how the loom finishes the edges of the denim.

Size Guide
In the photos: Ed is 5’8″ / 10.5 stone and wears 30 waist, 28 leg.
Turn-ups: We ship the BRTR-15 without a turn-up. If you prefer to wear your jeans with a permanent turn-up, choose a longer leg length to accommodate this. For example, if you’re a 30″ leg and you’d like to fold in a turn-up, choose a 32″.
Your HebTroCo jeans are made with an extra 1-inch in the leg to compensate for first wash shrinkage (e.g. a 30″ will measure 31″ before first wash). Any shrinkage will be in the leg, not the waist.

Product Care
The BRTR-15 jeans are made from raw selvedge denim. Please follow the wash and care instructions included with your order to avoid f*cking them up.
Raw denim is not colourfast and requires special attention when laundering.

These jeans are the best I have ever owned. The fit is perfect, exactly as described, not baggy but loose enough. They are incredibly substantial at 15oz and feel denser due to the broken twill. I can see these lasting for many, many years. The new and improved fit is definitely noticeable too, making them feel like workwear crafted by a tailor.
