Ticking my boxesShared ideas and ideas shared
Some of my favourite things are good seasonal food, clothes made from locally-sourced natural materials, and outdoor adventures with like-minded people.
One of our customers got in touch to share his idea for a BOTHER magazine feature. Billy Scanlan has been buying HebTroCo for years so he ticked the love-of-quality-clothes box. His idea was a very special adventure that you will be able to read about in issue 7 of our print magazine, another big tick. Join our newsletter to be notified when it’s available to buy.
The day I met Billy he invited me to his home where he served fresh native oysters from his town of Clarinbridge, in County Galway, on the west coast of Ireland. I couldn’t believe my luck that I ended up in Oyster Town! Native oyster season here is from September to April. They are some of the very best oysters I’ve ever eaten. Massive tick.
Here we are both wearing 100% wool. Billy in the USB34 Overshirt and myself in our new Base Jumper. Both tops made from British-sourced and British-spun wool. The USB34 sewn up and the Base Jumper knitted in the UK. And yes the Guinness was so delicious we had to have more than one.
The next issue of BOTHER will launch at a special pop up event on Friday 28th November at Altogether Otherwise in Manchester’s Northern Quarter from 7-10pm. All day Friday and Saturday we will be running a pop up event with clothes to try and buy as well as film screenings.
Pick up your copy in person at the popup or order online to read about the wild adventure we embarked on after eating all the oysters.
