Pitch Black Iron Shirt14oz selvedge denim
New 14oz black selvedge denim. Lighter than our other Iron Shirts making this more easy to wear and a good spring summer choice. 14oz is the standard weight of our jeans so this no lightweight. There’s a characterful ‘grain’ to this denim with slight vertical variations in the tone of the colour. Denim is 100% regenagri® cotton (GOTS certified) from the world famous Candiani denim mill near Milan in Italy.
The Iron Shirt is a HebTroCo classic that has been a best seller in our range for several years.
Made in a variety of cloth types and featuring lots of large pockets, it has the cloth weight and utility usually found only in jackets.
The great thing about the Iron Shirt is that it looks simple but still stands out. The practicality of massive pockets is hidden keeping things unfussy. The cloth weight and design structure give a strong, solid look. It’s simple but at the same time striking.
Designed on our cutting table in Calderdale by Amelia and made exclusively for us in London by our friends at Tower Garments.

Regenerative Agriculture is the antidote to damaging, intensive farming. Farming with nature. Not just avoiding synthetic fertiliser and pesticides but using extra ecological practices.
Intensive farming leads to soil degradation. Regenerative agriculture is a way of farming that builds and improves soil fertility, whilst sequestering and storing atmospheric CO2, increasing on farm diversity and improving water and energy management.

Size Guide
In the photos: Ed is 5’8″ / 10.5 stone and wears a size Medium.
Will fit a sweatshirt or light jumper underneath. 14oz denim is initially stiff but will soften with wear.
Because it’s a thick 1kg shirt, it feels more fitted and so if you want it to feel loose, go up a size.

Product Care
Your pitch black Iron Shirt is made from raw selvedge denim. Please follow the wash and care instructions included with your order to avoid f*cking it up.
Raw denim is not colourfast and requires special attention when laundering.
Avoid white upholstery as this colour will transfer until you’ve worn it in and washed it.

Could not be happier with this shirt, first class quality, great fit, just feels special, but have the moleskin shirt I sized up a bit to wear as a outer garment in the winter, this one I sized down to where as a shirt and not outer shirt. The selvedge strip inside the front is a class addition, giving it that special feel. This one has the black press studs on it that I really like, makes the piece very understated. Can’t wait to wear it a lot. Goes great with dark Japanese selvedge. Well done another future classic, why wouldn’t you buy from HebTroCo clothes to last a lifetime while looking outstanding. I recently bought one of the remaining (now sadly discontinued) 16oz double black iron shirts in XL, and sized myself optimistically. Therefore after a couple of wears, I realised it’s a bit too small, and I’ve had to move it on as obviously can’t return it. My own fault for vanity sizing myself, but was I so keen to get one…
However, I was very pleased to see the new pitch black iron shirt available, and have now procured a XXXL (to be sure ).
I love this shirt.
It’s a great cut and the materials really are second to none. I’ve gone up another size so I can put a hoodie under it, although it fits well with just a tee under too.
The 2oz reduction in fabric weight from the double black is hardly noticeable to be honest.
The iron shirt has an understated stroke utilitarian style to it, that is timeless, and it’s good for smartening up or dressing down.
It’s great to see quality craftsmanship/garments created in the UK.
I just might have to get an indigo one as well at some point.
