Buff Linen Overshirt240 gsm 100% linen
Linen’s rugged charm beefed up to a hefty overshirt weight in a zero-frills, two-pocket design that celebrates this great cloth. Soft, tactile and tough, this shirt amplifies everything that’s good about linen. The weight and quality of make is a combination you seldom see and is sure to get your mates asking, “Where’d you get that?”. Designed by us in Calderdale, made to our spec in North London. Natural buttons made from milk!
We like things chunky and we like a textured finish.
The 100% linen used to make this overshirt caught our eye a few years ago. We found it at Brisbane Moss in Todmorden. It’s not fly away linen it’s got some heft to it and definitely more like overshirt-weight. We made a sample and, despite it never going to production, Ed kept wearing it because he loved it so much.
If you like a formal pressed finish then look elsewhere…
This linen has texture. You can see the weave and feel the yarn. It will crease up when you wear it and we love that. It’s part of the rugged charm of this natural fibre. The more you wear and wash linen the softer it becomes.
Linen is soft but strong. Stroke it with your palm and feel the softness. Give it a good poke with your finger and feel its hard edge. Linen is the master of being fluid, while also holding its shape. It floats on your body like a second skin. If you’re into your details like we are then you will appreciate what we’re on about here.

Codelite® buttons are a natural alternative to polyester buttons. They are robust, hard-wearing and machine washable. But that’s where the similarities end. Unlike their polyester counterparts, Codelite® buttons are bio-degradable and sustainably produced.
Turning freshly squeezed udder juice into a cured, hardened sheet of Codelite® begins with separating the solids (curds) and liquid (whey) using a naturally occurring enzyme. A magical solution called formalin is then added to slowly transform the substance into a solid material.
Nothing is wasted in the production process. The leftover whey is sold (it’s very useful) and sent off to be used elsewhere.
