This film is about being bothered. About how we spend our time, about how we do the work we do and about why quality is important.

We’re aware that a business using the word community can sound like we’re using the “c” word but what became obvious when making this film was that lots of other people are telling the same story that we are.

You’re going to need to get comfortable to watch this. Make a drink, you’ll be here for half an hour. Unusual in our fast paced algorithm driven culture. It’s worth bothering though.

We made a magazine. BOTHER. A real physical thing. Something we wanted to read ourselves. It’s full of interesting people doing inspiring stuff. We didn’t do it alone. We got our friends involved and made new friends on the way. Some contribute, some advertise. We’re in the same boat and we want it to rise on the tide.

Travelling the country talking to people we found a common thread of a ‘craft’ sensibility. Everyone here puts value on the work they do. There is purpose. There is satisfaction of doing something well. Making something good. Not chasing the bottom line and prioritising profit, but instead chasing the dream of living a creative working life and sharing the products of these endeavours out to the community of customers that also want to find meaning beyond simply being consumers. We all want to love what we do and we want to share it.
