Worst kept secret in the valley

After the success of Happy Valley we’ve got another major TV series about to start on TV that’s based around Hebden Bridge.

The Gallows Pole, a historical fiction novel written by our pal Ben Myers, has been adapted into a BBC 2 series directed by Shane Meadows. It launches on Wednesday 31st May on BBC2 and iPlayer.

Ben has recently been shining brightly as several of his books have moved into focus. The launch of his newest book Cuddy, which is a history of the north of England based around St Cuthbert and the life of Durham cathedral, has been received with critical acclaim. The Offing is being adapted for TV with Helena Bonham Carter playing the lead. You get the picture.

We kitted Ben out with some of our clothes recently. We’re hoping he’s going to be in loads of glamorous media stuff so that we can get rich selling the clothes to his adoring fans.
