Shaggy's Baggies

£ TBC

Due: The future

In sampling are two bags. A commute / hike / day pack and a courier style sling bag.

We’ve toyed with the idea of making bags for years but failed to agree on what we wanted. So we’ve put someone else in charge – Shaggy – an aerospace engineer / ultra distance runner and rider. We’ve known him for years. He has the technical know how to put this one together.

Another update from Shaggy’s workbench. Now it’s the turn of the Courier Bag.

We’re trying out a different fabric for this one. It may change. We’ll put it through its paces first then make a decision. Construction will largely remain the same though – we’re loving it so far.

Stay tuned for more updates and if you’re interested in receiving an email alert when stock eventually arrives, join the wait list.

More photos have landed in our inbox straight from Shaggy’s workbench.

This is the day pack. Look at that red lining!

Can’t wait to give this first model a test.

Shaggy has sent us this photo of his progress on the Heavy Canvas Rucksack. It’s coming along.

We’re looking forward to seeing it in three-dimensional form.

Slow and steady wins the race, though. Keep up the graft, Shaggy.

We’ve toyed with the idea of making bags for years but failed to agree on what we wanted. We both love bags and did manage to get the fantastic bum bag through production (now sold out).

The best idea was to hand the other-kinds-of-bags project over to someone else to sort.

We’ve been mates with Shaggy for years, meeting him through mountain biking originally. It was Shaggy’s idea that we went to do the Rovaniemi 150km race in the Arctic Circle in 2013. brant wore the wrong trousers and got a savage case of saddle sore and I won a medal, but that’s another story.

Shaggy’s been an aerospace engineer, a bicycle frame builder and frame building teacher as well a sponsored mountain bike racer and ultra-distance runner / rider. We like to think of him as our favourite Boy’s Own adventure person.

With this background he certainly knows what makes a good bag and he has the technical skills to put one together.

We bought up the last of some very special Halley Stevensons ‘Swiss Army’ heavy canvas. This will be what’s used for the rucksack.
