What makes the Roadrunner different to other jackets on the market?
Well let’s start by looking back at the 1950s through to the 1970s. Back then, waxed cotton jackets were made from heavier weight cloth than that chosen for most of today’s modern equivalents. They were made with a purpose and that was to protect the wearer from the rain and the cold, often at speed in the open air. That heavier cloth lasts longer and looks better structurally. It can take a beating without dropping to bits and like a great pair of jeans will keep on looking the business the more worn and battered it gets.
This is the bar we set to achieve with the design and make of the Roadrunner Jacket.

Absolute beast of a jacket feels like it would survive an apocalypse!
Stand out points hardware most modern wax jackets are fiddly to put on biker style ones even more so not the Roadrunner big chunky brass poppers and heavy duty belt that doesn’t rely on a flimsy loop to support it and finally a decent neck strap.
Next stand out the length is perfect it’s slighter longer at the back big plus if you ride motorcycles and I can wear it when I’m in and out of the Land Rover as it’s not so long that it gets in the way.
Finally pockets everywhere capacious strong and in the right places

Well I waited a bit to get a few wears in different conditions before the review, it passed!!. I have Barbours, Belstaff in the wardrobe, well the Barbour is in the garage because of the smell of dog and damp waxy cotton from years of neglect!! The old stinking Barbour marsh smock I have is somewhat close to the same gauge of waxed fabric to this one, but the more modern ones and the Belstaff are very thin in comparison. This HTC one is head and shoulders above from a design and quality perspective. It has double material patches on high wear areas, robust brass hardware and the fit is absolutely spot on. I haven’t been used to a short boxy fit in the past, the last few HTC garments have been this fit and I now really like it. You feel a bit of a fraud wearing this jacket without first going off on an old trials bike or scrambler and covering it in mud. Alas, I won’t be using it for this, but as a piece of robust, quality outer wear you won’t beat it. Equally at home in the forest walking the dog, chopping wood, or parading it in town on a night out in the pub. The price is very very impressive for the weight, quality and longevity this will bring. Another massive hit for me, I just can’t stop buying this stuff!! Please don’t tempt me with anything else for a few months, the bank balance can’t take much more, well maybe a linen iron shirt soon!! Buy it, wear it, abuse it, enjoy it, you won’t regret it for bloody years to come. A piece to be found in 50 years time in a heritage shop. First class again from the team, and made in Britain what more would you want.

Absolutely fabulous jacket. Have looked at a few other brands but never been impressed enough to buy. But this is the dogs b*ll*cks, as is most of HTC’s stuff. Really top quality, robust, beautiful colour, quality waxed fabric, laced with proper brass all over the place. Can’t wait to wear it. First class job
