Sorry you missed it.

The Tempest Camo edition of the bestselling Jacksnipe style. Weather resistant dry waxed cotton outer. Plenty of pockets to stash your stuff. Designed in Calderdale. Cloth from Dundee. Horn buttons from the Cotswolds. Cut and sewn together in Great Yarmouth.

The Jacksnipe is a roomy jacket designed to be worn year round over your bulky layers like big jumpers and overshirts. Wear it over a t-shirt too on warmer days. Versatility is stitched into every seam. The Jacksnipe is basically an overcoat-sized body in a shorter length.

We’ve collected lots of vintage hunting jackets over the years and they gave us plenty of ideas to work with. A-line fit, plenty of pockets, a weather-resisting finish that will age nicely – all key points in the design brief.

We get all the weather on the Pennines. Temperatures go up and down. Ed wanted something jacket-length that he could wear with (or without) the warmers of the HebTroCo wardrobe, our overshirts and jumpers.

The Jacksnipe Overjacket is cut to look good with or without those heavy layers.

Made from a 100% BCI cotton outer finished with a dry wax coating finished by Halley Stevensons of Dundee. Cut and sewn for us in the Far East (of England) in Great Yarmouth.

Like all previous editions of the Jacksnipe Overjacket, the Tempest Camo is a limited run.

Made in the Far East

(of England)

Based in Great Yarmouth, Yarmouth Oilskins started making in 1898 as Yarmouth Stores, supplying fishermen with clothing, hosiery, seamen’s oil and waterproof clothing. Over the years they’ve supplied workwear and speciality waterproof garments to the industries of the sea.

They’re a small scale, independent company with a background in traditional workwear. Their story and values align well with ours.

Product Care

Ideally you’re not going to wash a waxed cotton jacket. Spot clean any bad stains gently with a damp cloth. If you absolutely must, it can be hand washed in cool water but do not spin it, drip dry only and definitely do not tumble dry.

You can reproof your Jacksnipe Overjacket with Halley Stevensons reproofing spray.

Been waiting for camo jacksnipe to arrive since I missed the last one! Love it and had a few people commenting on how nice it is. Great waterproof jacket to wear over sweatshirt or shirt. However I think the button spacing could be narrowed and an extra one just below the pocket bag. It feels a bit flappy (!) at bottom. And some subtle HTC branding would be nice. A tab on one of the pockets or a small skull patch. Discreet but visible. But I love wearing it. Another addition to my expanding HTC collection.

Is this the best Jacksnipe yet? Probably, at least till the next one comes along.
Did I need another one? Obviously, at least the wife has finally accepted that “it’s a collecting thing”.

Everything about it, the cut, fit, quality and style are as perfect as it’s predecessors and everything else, that come’s out of HTC.
I’m a big fan of the camo, with the previous camo version being my favourite of the three I already have. But I think this Tempest pattern takes it up a notch, in terms of style. It reminds me of the old Flecktarn patterns, popular with the German army, without giving me the urge to invade somewhere…

You’ve knocked it out of the park, again. Roll on number 6.

    Wow…it’s a beauty!

Just received my Jacksnipe Tempest and couldn’t be more pleased.

When I spotted this on Facebook a few weeks ago on Ed, in the shadow of a large Pixies logo, I was very excited, so I’ve been keeping my eyes double peeled to avoid missing out on this version as these often get snaffled up in a few hours when they hit the website.

If you have one of the earlier versions you’ll know about the versatile cut and fit, quality of make etc, but the camo pattern on this version (which is absolutely gorgeous) really lifts this up a level in my opinion. I’m a bit of a camo collector so biased in that regard, but…it…is…really staggeringly good! Reminds me of blurred edge Autumn variant (German) WW2 camo but softer patterns and a lighter deserty palette.

I really wish I’d discovered Hebtroco earlier. The quality, attention to detail, environmental aspect of how they do things, and the customer service I’ve had has been faultless. It took a bit of time for me to make the mental shift to upping what I spend on clothes, but when you consider it’s all UK made, to a very high standard, supporting small companies around the UK, suppliers and staff paid properly, quality of materials (3 meters of this fabric from Halley Stevenson is around £80) etc, you realise the pricing is very very fair, and good value as these clothes are made to last, and will make you more stylish and more attractive by at least 23%!

Awesome awesome awesome jacket, the only tweak I’d make (purely personal preference) is change the label back to the version with the skull, or better yet, the all black skull label from the wax n wool vest. But that’s just me being a picky dangler.
