British-made in hardy denim that’ll take a kicking and get better with age. Two big patch pockets for your hands or trinkets. Outside chest pocket with a button. Practical and comfy. Throw over whatever you’re wearing, button up and crack on. Kitchen, shed, pub - doesn’t matter. It’s workwear that works, and looks decent when you’re off the clock too. Designed on our Calderdale cutting table, made for us in Leicester by Bob and the team.
Using the Rest to Make the Best
We’ve made the smock using the last of a roll of denim in our warehouse. Deadstock cloth turned into proper workwear blues. Unsurprisingly our warehouse manager Andy has been wearing the original sample of this smock everyday as he tends to the shelves and packs up your orders.
We don’t like waste. So when we found this denim tucked away in the warehouse, we immediately got thinking about how we could make it into something useful – smocks was the answer. Versatile, practical, a reliable all-rounder. Deadstock turned into something useful. Better on your back than gathering dust.

This design frees your shoulders from bulky seams and makes it a doddle to pull on and whip off. -
Open cuff

With Corozo button flap closure. -
Two patch pockets
Bar tacked corners for extra durability. -
Twin needle run and fell side and underarm seam
Like a pair of jeans. -
Chain stitch hem
Typically used in jeans and will eventually create a rope effect fade with wear and washing. -

Bob at Chistia Denim, based down in Leicester, have been part of our making force for years. His team are the skilled hand behind some of our favourite pieces including the Bob Job Chore Coat and more recently the Echo and Magneto Vests – all crafted with care.
