Nothing feels like moleskin which is why we used this hard wearing, soft-to-the-touch cloth for the HebTroCo Founder trousers in 2015. The idea had legs and these all new Decade Moleskin Trousers celebrate our 10th anniversary.
Fit & Feel
Designed by Amelia on our Calderdale cutting table and cut and sewn in Leicester by Bob’s small team of skilled machinists. Tough, warm and made to graft – just like the 176 original pairs that launched the company.
The Decade Moleskin’s bring together everything we’ve learned from a decade of designing, making and wearing our own HebTroCo trousers.
With this heavy cloth we’ve used an extended waist band with button closure to keep the front of the trousers flat and smart.
Pleats add shape and comfort, complimenting the gentle taper of the leg.

Woven in Italy for Brisbane Moss, a historic British manufacturer of moleskin and corduroy, once based in Todmorden, now Burnley. Brisbane Moss commissioned cloth is a seal of quality. -

The Moleskin Story
Ten years ago, in a pub in Hebden Bridge, we had an idea: sell 176 pairs of moleskin trousers to give work to a local factory on its last legs. Those trousers sold, the factory endured and HebTroCo was born.
December 2025 marks a full decade since that day in the pub. We’re celebrating the only way that makes sense: with a brand-new pair of moleskin trousers and perhaps a pint.
Decade Moleskin Trousers honour the cloth that put Hebden Bridge on the map as Trousertown. Back in the industrial days moleskin was one of the area’s signature fabrics – dense, tough, warm and brushed soft on the surface. It was the everyday armour of mill hands, engineers, farmers and labourers. The Wild West had denim. Calderdale had moleskin. It was workwear with class and folk wore it with pride. The fabric had cultural clout as well as grafting strength. Dick Turpin even chose a full moleskin suit for his execution!
The Memory of Moleskin Ignites an Idea
In the twentieth century moleskin drifted out of sight. Only country people kept buying it for its bramble resistance and stubborn durability. We remembered it from when we were kids and wore moleskin trousers. We wanted to wear them again so started making them in the style we wanted. The rest is HebTroCo history.
Decade Moleskin Trousers continue that story. Built from quality, hardwearing moleskin cloth and made right here. Tough enough for real work, smart enough for the pub, comfortable enough for everything in between. Ten years on, moleskin is still at the heart of HebTroCo – and these trousers mark the next chapter as we take it to eleven.
Bob's Your Uncle
Bob at Chistia Denim in Leicester has been part of our making force for years. His small team are the skilled hands behind some of our favourite pieces including the Bob Job Chore Coat, Echo and Magneto Vest, and more recently the Denim Smock – all crafted with care. Over the years, our partnership has grown into something special, and every now and then, Bob sweetens the deal by delivering us a box of his famously delicious samosas.

Product Care
Moleskins are 100% cotton. These natural fibres need care to keep them looking good.
Machine wash inside out at 30ºC with a bleach-free non-bio detergent or gentle detergent like Clean Jeans. Do not use softener.
For best results drip dry or slow spin. Remove from machine immediately at end of cycle.
Do not tumble dry.
Do not use a heated airer.
Air dry / line dry only.
Will my moleskins shrink?
Moleskin trousers will shrink up to half an inch in leg length only on first wash (we include a little bit of extra length in the leg to compensate for this). They will give a little with wear, tightening and giving again with subsequent washes.

Probably the best trousers I have ever clad my back legs in, certainly the most expensive…
But, you can see where the money has been spent. Bombproof material and construction. The all important, made in the UK too.
I’m a bit between sizes, and had worried these would be just a bit annoyingly too big, but thankfully that’s not the case, so I can keep these tremendous trousers.
