What are you doing Black Friday? We’re having a party… and we’d love you to come.
We’re getting psyched for our pop up, Love What We Do in Manchester’s Northern Quarter on 28 & 29 November. I’ve been visiting exhibitions and gathering ideas and people to be part of it.
Part of the pop up will be screenings of BOTHER our latest film. It’s all about the HebTroCo ethos – this is the art of bothering. The film features us, our suppliers and some other friends and collaborators. Our friends at ATA records, who feature in the film, let us use music from this latest release in the film.
The Library Archive 4 is the album. We received our vinyl copy today and it came with this lovely note which includes the magic line, ‘first time our library music has been used as library music’. So cool!
Last week I went to the awe inspiring retrospective exhibition for fashion designer and artist Aitor Throup. Part of the excellent British Textile Biennial it was set in the magnificently derelict Empire Theatre in Burnley. People are often disparaging about this northern town, so it was lovely to go to a world class exhibition here and leave inspired and with a warm feeling for somewhere that deserves a better rep.
Streetwear, uniform, urban assault costume, actual Hunger Games costume, British tailoring, CP Company and Stone Island collaborations, football terrace wear. Aitor was brought up in Burnley, his identity forged here and the narrative of his experiences and influences are expressed in a very structured form in these garments.
Hope you can make it to our event and that you get inspiration from it for yourself. We love what we do and hope you do too.
