The Pennine WayIn 2015 we had an idea in the pub to start HebTroCo making 2025 our 10th anniversary.
HebTroCo was born in Hebden Bridge on the Pennines and the rugged landscape is the inspiration and testing ground for our properly made and robust clothes.
In 2015 we had an idea in the pub to start HebTroCo making 2025 our 10th anniversary.
We’re going to be celebrating with products, films and events throughout the year, starting with a short film about the Pennine Way, which runs like a thread right through where we live and work.
We love to see people with an independent spirit doing what they love and sharing it with others. This is usually not the easy path to take! We’ll be featuring our musician friend Johnny Campbell as he celebrates 60 years of the Pennine Way, the first UK national trail, by walking all 268 miles carrying his guitar and playing 17 gigs along the route.
I’ll set my compass North, from Edale, Derbyshire, traversing the ‘Backbone of England’.
We’re filming next week before Johnny starts this famously hard route in March. Take warm clothes Johnny!
As well as two shows in Hebden Bridge Johnny will be playing some very characterful small venues along the route including the highest pub in the land, The Tan Hill Inn.
To keep live music alive the best thing you can do is go to gigs and also buy merchandise directly through musicians. Johnny has just launched a Kickstarter to help cover some of the costs of his adventurous project. You can pledge money to buy merch, download his new single ‘A Roving We Will Go’, or even get Johnny to come to your house to play a gig. He’s got a couple of hundred tea towels so the more we buy the less he’ll have to carry to sell along the way!
The full list of Johnny’s shows can be found on his website johnnycampbell.co.uk
As well as the film, Johnny will be featured in BOTHER, our print magazine.
