Delicious deep indigo in 11oz Candiani selvedge denim.

Made from deadstock denim previously used to make our now discontinued V12 jeans*. The shorts name had to be V6 as they use half the cloth the V12! They’re not half the price though, come on, all the work is in the top!

The dark indigo is a lovely 11oz selvedge and is perfect for making summer weight shorts. It also uses up our roll ends, nothing goes to waste and you get to enjoy the pleasure of selvedge in short form.

V6 is a totally new design, not just a cut down pair of jeans. It uses the new 925 shape which has more room in the leg and the 10” inseam leaves you the option of a turn up if you want to flash the selvedge stripe

*replacing them and the 177 with M16 and R14.

Our first shorts made from denim. It’s only taken 5 years!

The first shorts we made were made from moleskin. It’s all we had to use at the time and to be honest we were surprised when people bought them! Moleskin is usually regarded as a winter fabric but we thought we’d just wing it. People liked them then, so let’s get moving again with shorts made from long pants cloth.

We source all our denim from Italian textile masters, Candiani. Their approach to production innovation and sustainability is nothing short of exceptional. It’s no wonder they have a world class reputation.

The V6 shorts are made from Candiani selvedge denim and have the highest environmental credentials.

Environmental sustainability is at the forefront of all stages of production of Candiani denim. Using BCI cotton, a microplastics-free dye process, solar power and water recycling to name some of the process used.

Dyeing powered by mushrooms...

Candiani use ‘Easy Fade’ dyeing technology with this denim to get good looking jeans, with clean fade lines when you wash then. This is all achieved quicker than usual using less water and chemicals!

The dyeing process also uses patented techniques including using mushrooms and seaweed instead of chemicals, making these jeans microplastics free.

What is Selvedge?

Selvedge is old-style denim, woven on narrow looms and typically has a more characterful appearance and a higher level of quality than mass-produced denim.

You can see the selvedge (self edged) stripe at the turn up. It’s where during weaving the outside edge of the cloth has been woven together to stop it having a raw edge.

Washing is simple. Wrecking your shorts is really difficult IF you follow our care guide. If you choose not to, you’re on your own.

When you buy any of our denim garments, we’ll throw a copy of our Denim Care booklet in your parcel.

If your booklet goes walkabout, gets eaten by a dog, or stolen as a bookmark, no worries, we’ve published a copy of it online, so no excuses.

I got a pair of the shorts and the quality is great. I like the fact they fit like the jeans that I wear so they are nice and comfortable. The length is great and the look good.
