It’s made for us in Wales by the Treorchy Sewing Enterprise who are rekindling the once vibrant textile industry in the Rhondda Valley.

It’s poplin off!
Poplin is considered a ‘plain weave’ – but plain doesn’t mean dull. Our Summer Shirt 100% organic cotton cloth is poplin off! The densely woven criss-crossing of fine cotton thread makes the cloth strong, crisp and silky to the touch. It’s as soft as you can get a cotton shirt without mixing in synthetics.

As in many parts of Britain, when the big brands moved to offshore manufacture, the highly skilled cutters and machinists lost their jobs – but they didn’t forget their skills. And now with new fire the dragon returns!
Within the next five years their aim is to bring experienced people back into the textile industry as well as training young people to join the workforce, all doing meaningful jobs that they can be proud of. We aim to support this great project with plenty of orders.

I fully tested this shirt in Corfu last week!
It survived lounging by the pool, visiting the hotel bar (frequently), being hand washed in a hotel sink and air drying on the balcony!
It’s a really nice relaxed fit. Looks good with jeans in the bar, but also with my swimming trunks by the pool.
It is very lite weight, and dries out so quickly.
Love it.
