8.5oz selvedge denim shirt with contrast stitching and white corozo nut buttons.
Mynydd is Welsh for mountain. You come over it on the Rhigos Pass and down into Treorchy to reach the little workshop where these shirts are made.
Designed in house by Amelia and made for us by Treorchy Sewing Enterprise. A couple of machinists, a cutter and Teresa (who knows how to work the computer) make up their operation. They might be small in number but they are a mighty force, with lots of experience of garment making and a determination to see these skills carry on in Wales.
Made from Candiani selvedge denim gently woven on 1960s shuttle looms. The selvedge stripe is visible on the inner placket and the side seam hem.
80% Cotton, 20% Linen.
The linen content adds a natural cluster and soft feel, whilst remaining 100% biodegradable.

Selvedge denim from the world’s greenest mill
The Mynydd Shirt is made from denim woven at the Candiani mill. They’re Italian denim masters with the highest environmental credentials.
Environmental sustainability is at the forefront of all stages of production of their denim. Using BCI cotton, a micro-plastics free dye process, solar power and water recycling are just some of the process used.

Follow our denim care guide to keep this shirt looking good.
You will want to wash it more frequently than your jeans and it’s fine to do so.
Top tip: avoid the spin cycle and drip dry to avoid wash crease lines.

This Mynydd shirt radiates quality from every seam. The beautifully precise contrasting stitching, and endlessly touchable fabric, combine to construct this magnificent shirt.
Even better than the pictures convey (like all my Hebtroco purchases) this eclipsed my high expectations when freed from its packaging. The substantial fabric in this mountain shirt is gorgeous. It’s going to last (will probably outlast me!). I love it. Love the fact it’s made just up the road from me too.
