Something to wear over your overshirts and jumpers

Ed wanted something in a jacket length to wear over our big jumpers and overshirts, as well as with just a t-shirt at warmer times. Basically an overcoat-sized body in a shorter length.

Vintage hunting jackets that we’ve collected over the years gave us plenty of ideas to work with. A-line fit, plenty of pockets and a weather resisting finish that will age nicely – that was the design brief.

It’s in the details

340gsm P270 Pioneer water resistant waxed cotton shell that’s made from BCI sourced cotton with a fluorocarbon-free wax finish.

British-made plastic-free buttons made from horn.

Silky cranberry red viscose/cotton lining to help you slide in when you’re wearing lots of layers.

Pockets-a-plenty

Two generous handwarmer pockets with plenty of space to stash stuff. Securely tucked underneath these are two patch pockets each with enough room for a wallet or large smart phone.

Inside are two large buttoned poachers pockets that will accommodate a notebook or roadkill pheasant / nut roast that’s fallen off the back of a lorry.

150 years of waxed cotton cloth innovation

Dundee-based Halley Stevensons are the world’s leading manufacturer and innovator of high quality waxed cotton fabrics. With over 150 years of experience under their belt they are truly experts in their field.

We share similar values with Halleys; we both love making stuff in Britain, we value quality and both of us are striving to improve sustainability in the fashion market.

Using deadstock fabrics to reduce waste

To create the Jacksnipe Overjacket, we’ve been given access to some of Halley’s deadstock cloth that they were keen to put to use in making garments rather than going to clearance or disposal.

The lining is our own deadstock cloth, leftover from the wax field jacket we made a couple of winters ago.

By using this lining and the salvaged Halleys waxed cotton roll we’re able to make use of existing materials, reducing our manufacturing impact and costs. We’re passing these savings onto you. Win win.

Care Guide

Ideally you’re not going to wash a wax cotton jacket. Spot clean any bad stains gently with a damp cloth. If you absolutely must, it can be hand washed in cool water but do not spin it, drip dry only and definitely do not tumble dry.

Sizing Guide

Ed wears M (5’8″ / 10.5 stone)

The Jacksnipe Overjacket is designed to be worn over other garments which means you don’t need to size up to accommodate your biggest jumper underneath.

Snagged mine in XL as soon as it dropped. Initially I feared it may be too big, but actually it’s going to be perfect for wearing over a chore or over shirt. The colours inside and out are fantastic and the make, as we’ve come to expect from HTC, is bang on. Per Ed’s suggestion, I may look to keep a mouse in one of the hidden pockets. Shout out to Teash. Arrived this morning. Possibly the single best HTC item I own and the ‘Boss’ tells me I have too many!
The fit is perfect. After checking with ther HTC team, I ordered the matching size to my overshirts (don’t size up) . Quality is as I’ve come to expect, top-notch, the colour is perfect.
Ed’s knocked it out of the park with this, probably his one great idea!!
