Moleskin – it’s not made from moles…

No moles were harmed during the making of our trousers – moleskin does not COME from moles, it just feels like a mole’s skin.

Moleskin is a tough heavy fabric made from densely woven cotton, initially looped, then sheared which creates a short soft pile on the upper side. It looks and feels a bit like chammy and some sorts of velvet, but is actually far tougher than either.

Moleskin has been used in trouser making for many years, and is popular for hunting, building work, countryside use due to it’s ability to shrug off damage, keep clean, be “quiet” in use, as well as being breathable, and comfortable even when wet.

Certified ”Oko-Tex Standard 100” cotton from a famous German mill.

All British made Corozo buttons. No plastic here!

Heavy cotton reinforced pockets resist daily wear.

Includes “Coiner’s Pocket” (front left) which securely holds your loose change or secret stuff and subtle left thigh multi-tool pocket.

Reinforced and double bar tacked outer side seams.

Bar tacked belt loops are sewn into the waistband for strength, and are big enough for a proper 1.5″ wide belt.

Washable patch with GVNR logo.

Button fly because a man should be able to take his time and buttons never jam.

It turns out that I quite enjoy being stroked so a pair of GVNR Moleskins have arrived to go with my lovely moleskin overshirt. Quality as ever is first class, the colour is a lovely grey / green and the material feels lovely. Recommended.

“HebTroCo originally started with moleskin trousers & this wonder fabric continues to be a key part of our range. It’s warm, soft, looks great and wears well.”

Developed in industrial days moleskin was used as an alternative to woollen cloth for making jackets and trousers. It was chosen for its warmth and hard wearing qualities. Later it was adopted by country people for its ability to resist thorns as well as the cold wind.

Warm and wind resistant. Our moleskin garments are ideal for autumn, winter and early spring wear. They’re durable and tough, and ideal for outdoor use whatever the weather.

Washing

Moleskins are 100% cotton. These natural fibres need care to keep them looking good. Wash at 30ºC with non biological detergent, no softener, no tumble drying, air/line dry.

Don’t just stick them in the washing machine with everything. For best results drip dry, SLOW spin, and definitely don’t tumble dry.

Will my moleskin trousers shrink?

Moleskin trousers will shrink up to half an inch in leg length only on first wash. They will give a little with wear, tightening and giving again with subsequent washes.

My first pair of moleskin pants from Hebtro. After buying a pair of jeans I thought I’d try these out.
Great fit and quality. Pretty heavy but comfotable to wear.
