Made for us by William Lennon & Co in Derbyshire, who are England’s last traditional heavy work boot maker. Run by the same family since 1899 they know how to make proper boots. The Derby Boot is a country classic, but the HebTroCo version is a high quality, heavy weight version at home on city streets as well in the great outdoors.

The double leather toe cap is, as far as we know, unique. Most toe caps are single thickness and sewn to the upper. Ours are super robust, giving a chunky look that will not collapse, accentuated by the sprung leather sole, which is fitted with a big grippy Vibram lower.

The Horween leather comes from the renowned Chicago tannery and is considered to be some of the best in the world. The nut brown leather is pure veg tanned leather and has a matt/naked appearance with characterful variations in shade from light to dark, which comes from an additional process of dry milling which breaks up the flat characterises for a more rugged worn look. These boots will only get better with wear and polish.

There is no lining in these boots as this is against the work boot aesthetic. Linings look pretty but when they wear out with sweat and heavy use they are not replaceable. Derby boots are made to last and can be resoled back at the factory.

Motorcyclists will like the double toe caps which can serve as extra protection from gear shift wear. Derby Boots have the distinct advantage of also looking like a great pair of boots, rather than something that the Power Rangers would wear!

Sizing is generous standard British with a roomy toe area.

You don’t need to do much as these are tough boots. When the boots get wet allow them to dry thoroughly in the air and away from heat sources. Don’t put them on a radiator or in front of the fire as this will damage the leather. To clean gently brush away any dirt. Saddle soap or other gentle leather cleaner can be used to get rid of stubborn stains. When dry simply rub in a neutral or tan shoe polish and shine up. When the Vibram wears out our Derby boots can be resoled for around £40.

They’re guaranteed for life against manufacturing defects. Read more about the boots and how we came to make them in this article.

Just received a pair of these boots after a long manufacturing delay. It was worth the wait. You should always buy the best you can in terms of your bed and your boots – you’re always in either one or the other.
    These boots are magnificent.

Received my boots the other day and I am extremely pleased with the quality of the material and the work. I normally wear a 42.5 size boot so had to go up to the size 9. I intended to wear trekking socks with these boots and these plus a pair of wool insoles made the sizing good. I have a broad foot so it was a real joy to find a boot that was such a good fit. Traditional boots need a traditional treatment so next day down to the river for a soaking then a half hour walk. I dried the boots as recommended and now the fit is excellent. In summary then – chuffed to bits with the boots.

Bought a pair of these boots in March.
In my opinion if you don’t own a pair of these in your lifetime you’ve never owned a pair of boots. Great leather, great craftsmanship, comfortable and stylish.
Oh and the service is great.
