The Film About the Event"I Don't Even Like Jazz"
Do you ever stop what you’re doing and just listen to music? Not while driving, cooking, reading or commuting. Me neither. So I decided to do something about it and jumped straight down the rabbit hole. Come on, follow me down…
My gateway drug was the Tokyo Jazz Joints project. The photo book seduced me with its images of crusty, dark jazz spots. The podcast guided me, letting me travel Japan vicariously. Next I started to listen to the music that was mentioned but it wasn’t enough.
I went to Belfast to experience a listening event run by photographer Philip Arneil. This led to a feature in our print mag BOTHER. The obvious next step was to put an event on in our town Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire. It sold out and went so well that we did another one – watch how that went in the video above.
Will there be another event? This is just the start.

Thanks as ever to Tim Royle for making this film (you know he’s a director on Coronation Street, Emmerdale Farm and Eastenders.)
