Without doubt the best jeans I have ever had the pleasure of owning. The fit is great and the quality is excellent. Levi’s can go f*** themselves.

Blacker than a pirate’s heart and cut to our contour taper fit – the slimmest yet.

Narrower thigh, knee and hem, without being “skinny”. The M1 are as slim as you can get without using that dirty stretch denim. All black stitching. Warp and weft threads both dyed black with deeply fixed colour.

Made using 100% cotton selvedge denim by Candiani – these Italian denim masters have the highest environmental credentials. How? Find out here.

The M1 are meant to be worn with a turn up so that the selvedge is visible. This means that there is 2 inch extra length in the inseam and the turn up is pressed.

What is Selvedge denim?

Selvedge is old-style denim, woven on narrow looms and typically has a more characterful appearance and a higher level of quality than mass-produced denim.

The M1 jeans are made from raw selvedge denim. This means it hasn’t been washed and it hasn’t been through chemical colour-fast treatments. It has been sanforized though, which means that shrinkage on first wash will be minimal – less than 2% in length and 1% in width.

How is it eco denim?

Candiani are Italian denim masters. They are also the world’s most eco denim mill. The M1 are made from Candiani selvedge denim and have the highest environmental credentials.

Environmental sustainability is at the forefront of all stages of production of selvedge denim. Using BCI cotton, a micro-plastics free dye process, solar power and water recycling to name some of the process used.

Washing

You’ve bought a lovely pair of raw denim jeans. As they get older and start to fade you want to create your own fade lines rather than have the washing machine do it. If you want the best looking jeans wash at 3 to 6 month intervals.

Don’t just stick them in the washing machine with everything. For best results drip dry, don’t spin, and definitely don’t tumble dry.

Will my jeans shrink?

The denim we use is raw. This means that it hasn’t been washed and hasn’t been through chemical colour-fast treatments. It has been sanforized though, which means that shrinkage on first wash will be minimal – less than 2% in length and 1% in width.

This means that leg length will shorten by half to three quarters of an inch. Waist shrinkage is negligible. Jeans may tighten a little in the waist, but will loosen after wear. They will only lose half an inch in length.

Sizing Guide

These jeans are meant to be worn with a turn up so that the selvedge is visible. They are shipped with a 2 inch turn up. So a 30in leg would be 32.5in turned down (the half inch extra is for shrinkage – the waist doesn’t shrink though!).

Nice cut, and as they say… black. Took about a week for the denim to loosen up. But now very comfy. Will be interesting to see how they wash, but that won’t be for a while. Very pleased as usual.

Got home from work today and there was a nice brown package, and you could feel the weight when I picked it up. Got the jeans out and the fit perfect, room where it’s needed and nice deep pockets and workmanship is spot on. I don’t like turn ups so sized down in length and they were just right. They are black! Can’t wait to get them broken in. Showed my wife the washing label inside and she said you better send them back then…
