Since everything we do is made by hand, there can be a slight variation between pieces (up to 2% either way is considered within tolerance). Natural fibres can also shift slightly during production, with a bit of stretch or shrinkage all being part of that process.

A distinctively English coat

Turvin Clough is up the hill from HebTroCo heading onto Blackstone Edge and the tops of the Pennines. It’s wild country that way as Yorkshire turns into Lancashire. The famous Pennine Way passes there. You don’t go on Ilkley Moor without a hat and you better make sure you have a good coat on Turvin Moor.

Turvin is a surname, a Middle English derivative of Old Norse origin. Thor leaves his mark here! Infamous highwayman Dick Turpin’s last name is also closely related.

This is a distinctively English coat. Made from hard-wearing English tweed woven at the Mallalieus Mill in Delph in the historic West Riding of Yorkshire. Tweed that is hard enough to resist Pennine weather whilst also carrying the style for a trip into town. One of the benchmarks in the development of HebTroCo garments is that as well as looking great they must also be wearable on a walk home over the hills when needed.

The style is also rooted in hardwearing deck jackets as worn by the explorers of the early twentieth century. We love good pockets so we’ve added hand warmers and patch pockets.
