BRTR-11 Selvedge Denim Jeans / Tan

11 oz / 100% cotton Selvedge Denim

A tough yet lighter denim in our BRTR loose straight fit. Enough room for big thighs and calf muscles. Tan selvedge is an easy switch from your usual blue and black jeans. The looser cut feels airy when it’s hot and gives a stylish drape. The antidote to skinny jeans!

Waist: 40

Since everything we do is made by hand, there can be a slight variation between pieces (up to 2% either way is considered within tolerance). Natural fibres can also shift slightly during production, with a bit of stretch or shrinkage being part of the process.

Turn-ups: We ship the BRTR-11 without a turn-up. If you prefer to wear your jeans with a permanent turn-up, choose a longer leg length to accommodate this. For example, if you’re a 30″ leg and you’d like to fold in a turn-up, choose a 32″.

Your HebTroCo jeans are made with an extra 1-inch in the leg to compensate for first wash shrinkage (e.g. a 30″ will measure 31″ before first wash). Any shrinkage will be in the leg, not the waist.

Any questions at all, please email us and we’ll do our best to guide you.

The guys with the big thighs will comfortably fit the BRTR shape and look very good doing it.

BRTR is the ‘big brother’ of our classic GVNR fit that gives you even more room in the hip, thigh, knee and leg opening. And you get this bonus whether you’re a 30” or a 44” waist size. Designed by Amelia on our cutting table in Calderdale. Cut and sewn for us in London. More about that further down the page.

11oz denim is lighter than any other denim we use without giving up the rugged look of a proper pair of jeans.

This denim was a hidden gem that we found on our visit to Candiani in Italy back in February 2025. It was exactly what we’ve been looking to find for ages. Lighter cloth for warmer days without loosing the look and feel of denim, in a lovely shade of tan that is easy to wear with the rest of the HebTroCo range. The bonus was that this denim is selvedge so you can show the stripe with your turn up or just enjoy the characterful look and feel that only comes with premium denim woven on vintage shuttle looms.

More about the make...

GOTS 100% Organic Cotton

Global Organic Textile Standard sets the bar for sustainably and ethically sourced organic cotton.

It is the most widely recognised voluntary certification for organic textiles. This stringent standard requires complete supply chain traceability, strong social compliance, and environmental management practices while banning the use of GMOs and highly hazardous chemicals.

Cotton arrives in its raw form at the Candiani mill. They manage every aspect of its transformation from raw fibre into denim cloth.

Denim from Candiani

Candiani are masters in their craft, producing some of the world’s best selvedge denim.

Environmental sustainability is at the forefront of all stages of production at Candiani. Their dye process is micro-plastics-free, they use solar power and water recycling, and all their cotton is BCI certified.

Most of the selvedge we use is Regenagri© certified denim (which supports regenerative agriculture) or 100% Organic Cotton. We are proud to be one of the first brands in the world to use Regenagri© denim cloth to make our jeans.

What is Selvedge denim?

Selvedge is a premium denim woven only on vintage shuttle looms.

Compared to modern projectile looms, selvedge looms are smaller, slower and very noisy, but the character and durability of the denim they produce is unmatched.

The loom’s low yield is why selvedge is considered a premium denim and not the go-to choice for mass-market jeans.

The word “selvedge” comes from “self-edged,” which describes how the loom finishes the edges of the denim.

In the video, Vic explains how selvedge denim is made and why it’s the HebTroCo denim of choice.
