If you’re just discovering the Action Blanket in 2026, fear not, we’ve not lost the plot. This is a story that spans six years of blanketdom. Born in the great plague of 2020 to warm the cockles of a grounded population, the original HebTroCo Action Blankets were a hit. So simple and practical, people wore them in camper vans, working from home, in socially distanced beer gardens, and just watching the telly.
Years passed without any new blankets until 2025, when we rekindled the project with the expertise of local textile designer Rebecca Ough. The blanket was designed from the ground up, and Rebecca painstakingly created 20 handwoven Action Blankets for us on her AVL handloom.
This year’s mission was to take that design to the next stage in its journey - from handloom to power loom. Every part had to evolve: the pattern, the colour, the wool yarn. Fringed edges have also made their comeback for the first time since 2020, and the 100% cotton-bound head hole has been reinstated.
We’re calling the pattern Camoflock. It echoes the camo-like appearance of the handwoven blanket, but is now a canvas of olive green, brown, emerald, iron and oatmeal, criss-crossed like markers on a map. A nod to the beauty and wildness of the hills and valley towns we see every day.
Made from 100% pure new wool from British-born and bred sheep. Processed, spun, custom dyed and woven in Britain. This is not your run-of-the-mill blanket. It’s very HebTroCo.
