Classic HebTroCo slim straight leg fit in the deepest darkest black selvedge denim. 100% cotton, no-stretch - just like the way jeans used to be. People have been crying out for us to make more black jeans - this is the moment. Proper black denim, cut and sewn to our spec in East London.

Turn-ups: We’ve styled the GVNR-13 to be worn without a turn-up. If you prefer to wear your jeans with a permanent turn-up, choose a longer leg length to accommodate this. For example, if you’re a 30″ leg and you’d like to fold in a turn-up, choose a 32″.

Your HebTroCo jeans are made with an extra 1-inch in the leg to compensate for first wash shrinkage (e.g. a 30″ will measure 31″ before first wash). Any shrinkage will be in the leg, not the waist.

Since everything we do is made by hand, there can be a slight variation between pieces (up to 2% either way is considered within tolerance). Natural fibres can also shift slightly during production, with a bit of stretch or shrinkage being part of the process.

The Details
  • Made in Britain - Cut and sewn to our design and pattern at Blackhorse Lane Atelier, London.
  • Sanforised - to limit first wash shrinkage. Your jeans will shrink up to 1″ in leg length on first wash (we include an extra inch to allow for this). They will not shrink in the waist.
  • Selvedge stripe - Visible when worn with a turn-up (ships without turn up).
  • 5-button-fly - for a quicker draw!
  • Solid brass buttons - of which 80% is recycled. No toxic finishes. HebTroCo skull top button. Made by Berning in Germany.
  • Strong bar tack reinforcements - for strength and durability all around, stronger than rivets.
  • Pocket lining for strength - in the bottom of the back pockets.
  • Proper belt loops - That take a 1.5" belt.
  • Leather patch - you can feed your belt under. Featuring skull artwork inspired by our local moorland flora.
  • 5-pocket design
  • Secret pocket - built into the pocket bag of front left pocket to keep your change secure
  • Run and fell seams - For superior strength, durability, flat seam profile and clean appearance.
Materials & Care
  • Selvedge denim woven by Candiani - Italian masters of denim, renowned for their environmental credentials.
  • Raw denim - Unwashed denim in its raw form. Richer in colour from the start, starchier on first wear. It also saves a lot of water, chemicals and electricity use which is more sustainable.
  • 100% cotton 11oz heavyweight pocketing - Not your usual type that tears through. This stuff will last.
  • 100% Organic Cotton

Your GVNR-13 jeans are made from raw selvedge denim. Please follow the wash and care instructions included with your order to avoid f*cking it up.

Raw denim is not colourfast and requires special attention when laundering.

It is absolutely crucial, especially with our black denim, that you do not spin or leave them sitting damp in the washing machine after a cycle has finished – doing so will create unsightly crease fades. This is not a fault of the product, but the nature of the denim. Treat it will care and it will treat you well.

The Classic Fit in Pitch Black

GVNR is the fit that many pick as their first pair of HebTroCo jeans. Slim straight with a regular feel and can be worn comfortably with boots. Mid-rise for great shape, comfort and to keep your crack out of sight!

All the signature HebTroCo jeans features. Hardwearing, quality selvedge denim as a base; five button fly with solid brass buttons; a chunky leather patch on the back that you can feed your belt under; five pockets plus our signature “secret pocket” hidden in the left pocket bag to safety stow your loose change.

Like all our denim, it’s woven on traditional 1960s shuttle looms to create true selvedge cloth, valued for its durability and character. Cut and sewn for us at Blackhorse Lane Atelier in London.

What is Selvedge denim?

Selvedge is a premium denim woven only on vintage shuttle looms.

Compared to modern projectile looms, selvedge looms are smaller, slower and very noisy, but the character and durability of the denim they produce is unmatched.

The loom’s low yield is why selvedge is considered a premium denim and not the go-to choice for mass-market jeans.

The word “selvedge” comes from “self-edged,” which describes how the loom finishes the edges of the denim.

Denim from Candiani

Candiani are masters in their craft, producing some of the world’s best selvedge denim.

Environmental sustainability is at the forefront of all stages of production at Candiani. Their dye process is micro-plastics-free, they use solar power and water recycling, and all their cotton is BCI certified.

Most of the selvedge we use is Regenagri© certified denim (which supports regenerative agriculture) or 100% Organic Cotton. We are proud to be one of the first brands in the world to use Regenagri© denim cloth to make our jeans.
