Sideburn Magazine #52 Launch Party

“The first time I came across Sideburn I thought it was a funky zine about facial hair. I was excited, but quickly disappointed to find out that it was about motorbikes.” // Ed

Motorbikes are great to ride but usually a bit boring to read about. Luckily this magazine has a brilliant and constantly changing art direction, high nerd levels of detail, actually interesting writing, a lovely variety of people and some very cool custom bikes. Even if you don’t like bikes it’s fascinating just to look at.

What’s this all in aid of then?

It was launch party for the latest, 52nd issue of the magazine. Here we are with some like minded ‘bike and clothes enthusiasts’ having a nice time hanging out. We took a selection of jackets and jumpers for people to try on and as usual with our events we had a one off discount code for people who turned up.

What have we got in common with Sideburn?

We’re both fiercely independent, like things that are well made, are fans of the do it yourself ethic, oh and we like bikes.

Gary the editor is a long time supporter of HebTroCo and wears our Moto Boots to march around in as well as for bike riding. He’s been all over the world in them on his on and off road adventures.

Thanks to the Hinchliffe Arms, just up the road from our unit for hosting us for this party. If you’re looking for a good destination in the Hebden Bridge area you should try this place. It’s a good base to explore the valley on foot, up through Cragg Vale (which will soon become famous for being on the telly with an adaptation of Ben Myers’ book The Gallows Pole). Also it’s one of the best ways to walk up to Stoodley Pike, the fabulous famous phallus of Calderdale.

Until next time. Which will be a Knife Launch event on Wednesday 26th April 6-10pm at Coin in Hebden Bridge.
