Hand made exclusively for us by Britain’s last remaining traditional heavy work boot maker, using processes that go back to the 19th century.
The Moto CXL is made from Horween Chromexcel with a leather through sole fitted with a replaceable bonded and screwed Vibram sole.
Chromexcel is only made by the Horween tannery in Chicago and takes 89 separate processes over a full month to make. This results in a leather rich in waxes and oils that will only get better with wear. It looks beautiful, feels soft and is durable and can be shined or left unpolished for a rich matt finish. Nothing develops ‘character’ like Chromexcel.
Shipping is £16 in the UK – our reasons for that are explained here.
When wet allow them to dry thoroughly in the air and away from heat sources. Don’t put them on a radiator or in front of the fire as this will damage the leather. To clean use a stiff brush to remove dirt.
When dry condition with Neatsfoot Oil. If you want to re-colour scuffs and scratches use a leather cream with black pigment like Saphir Greasy Leather Cream Black. Don’t use wax shoe polish as this will remove the lovely oiled look.
They’re guaranteed for life against manufacturing defects. Read more about the boots and how we came to make them in this article.
Our boots are standard British sizing. Slightly generous in the toe area, but if you’re a half size, go up. The dimensions below indicate the width of the footbed in the boot.
