Lots of work goes into making this jacket – four generous external pockets, two inside chest pockets and a rear poacher’s pocket. Zip and button front closure as well as a storm flap at the neck will keep you warm in a gale. Draw cords at waist and bottom hem and buttoned cuffs will give you the option of a snug or looser fit. Eleven rows of stitching at the collar for rigidity, gusseted cuffs, multi panelled sleeve for ease of movement. Corners have not been cut and skilled hands have made this jacket with expert attention to detail.

Our Field Jacket has history behind it. Made exclusively for HebTroCo by Cookson and Clegg in Lancashire, who have a distinguished background in military garment manufacture. They originally produced this pattern for the British Army in the 1960s, although not in such a high end cloth.

The outer is a very high quality Merino wool, woven at the Hainsworth mill in Yorkshire, from their True Heritage collection of traditional outer wear fabrics. The Khaki jacket has a fine woven finish using 100% Merino wool. The Charcoal jacket uses a Melton Melange, 70% Merino 30% other fibres, for a more rugged finish.

A.W. Hainsworth are one of the oldest companies not just in Yorkshire but the whole of Great Britain. Throughout history Hainsworths have developed fabrics for the military, from the original Khaki to the Scarlett still seen today in the Trooping of the Colour.

The year 1485 marked the end of the War of the Roses. In the spirit of partnership between the two great English counties of Yorkshire and Lancashire we’re proud to present our 1485 Wool Jacket. Yorkshire woven wool, cut and made into jackets in Lancashire.

Buttons and zips are British made. Matt brown buttons on the Khaki jackets and matt black buttons on the Charcoal.

Sizing and Fit

Consistent with our other jackets. We use 2in steps between sizings to get you a better fit – rather than the 3in many brands use. As a result you may be a XXXL in HebTroCo rather than an XL in some high street brands. If you’ve got another HebTroCo jacket, this model will fit you in the same size (though will be fitted looser to allow you to layer up under it as well.)

We’re offering the Field Jacket in both Regular or Long fit. The Long model adds 4cm (1.6in) to the sleeve length and 3cm (1.25in) to the body length.
