When we moved up into our new larger warehouse, we ended up with a big pile of clothes that had no place to go. Over the last seven years the corner had filled up where seconds, out of date stock and things-that-are-a-bit-broken got dumped.
The time for action is now we thought. Rather than flood our online shop with things that don’t really belong, we decided to see if the good people at the Oxfam shop in Hebden Bridge would like to take this stuff.
Well they did and they did it properly, doing a fantastic job, making a HebTroCo shelving unit and a window sign with our logo.
Last Saturday they sold most of what we’d donated in the day, taking more money apparently than they take in some months!
This week they have at least three times as much from us: jeans, cords, moleskins and even some jackets. If you like a bargain start making plans because it all goes on sale on Saturday. It won’t hang around.
As a footnote you may be interested to learn that brant’s granny set up the second ever Oxfam shop in the world (Sale in Manchester), so even though this time it wasn’t all his idea, it was pretty close.
Thanks for reading! Here’s more about how we started, And here’s our new stuff we’ve launched in the last few weeks.
