Saturday 2nd December, 12 – 5pm, The Triangle, 47 Bradford Road, Shipley, Bradford, BD18 3DS
Two years ago, on the 2nd December 2015, two men walked into a pub. That was us. We wobbled out of there with an idea.
Now two years later we have a menswear brand selling trousers, jackets, belts and boots, all made in the North of England. We’ve turned over half a million quid and it seems to be going quite well.
To celebrate our birthday we’ll be running a pop up shop, upstairs in the Triangle craft beer shop and bar, which is in Shipley, West Yorkshire. Our full range of products will be available to try on and the vinyl will be spinning. We’ll also be pouring a selection of excellent beers, selected for us by the Triangle, which we’ll be giving away free tastings of. For those of you wanting to stay the bar and shop downstairs will be open for drinking in or taking away.
We wil be joined on the day by our good friends from Trickett, the outstanding purveyors of paraphernalia and quality menswear, who will have good stock for sale, including this remarkable stein pictured below.
The Triangle is really like no other place we’ve been. The point of each part of the triangle has a letter. A, B and C. These stand for Art, Beer and Curiosities.
As well as having over 100 craft beers from the very best breweries in the world, they have art exhibitions, music performances, lectures, workshops and even record listening and chess clubs. It’s a very friendly and sociable place where you can happily lose a few hours in delightful and often eccentric company.
If you don’t know the area, there’s lots to do to make a day of it. The impressive Salts Mill is nearby, with its cafe, art gallery and shopping and the curried delights of Bradford are but a short journey.
It would be great to see you there.
We will be offering limited free beer samples of the following beers on the day:
De Molen (Netherlands) – Tsarina Esra – 11% – Imperial Porter
Stronger version of a Baltic Porter. Comparable with an Imperial Stout but without the heavily roasted malt character. This created a soft beer with strong hops in the finish.
Kees (Netherlands) – Caramel Fudge Stout – 11.5% – Imperial Stout
Does what it says on the tin, a big sweet booze bomb tasting of caramel fudge.
Thornbridge (Bakewell) – Days of Creation – Sour Red Ale – 7%
Sour aged in burgundy barrels on raspberries
Northern Monk (Leeds/Saltaire) – Strannik – 9% – Imperial Stout
Made with 4 roasted malts to produce chocolatey spicy stout with floral notes
Cloudwater/Dry & Bitter (Manchester/Denmark) – Mobile Speaker – 8% – Double IPA
This DIPA was co-fermented with WLP095 and JW Lees yeast. Citra and Galaxy take the lead in Cloudwaters biggest dry hop charge yet for a full on Hop Aroma
North Riding (Scarborough) – Mosaic Pale Ale – 4.3% – Pale Ale
A more traditional beer from Scarboroughs finest showcasing one of the most popular hops of the moment.
Omnipollo (Sweden) – Mazarin – 5.6% – Oatmeal Pale Ale
A Thinkers beer, rather than being big and undecipherably complex Omnipollo have created something to calm a hop yearning nerve without fuddling the brain too much. In other words, a lavishly hopped ale of judicious ABV.
Lindemans / Mikkeller (Belgium/Denmark) – Spontanbasil – 6% –  Lambic
The crazy member of this family, SpontanBasil combines the sourness of lambic with the aromas and flavours of fresh basil. Complex tart and well-balanced taste with a nice crisp, dry and tart finish.
Firestone Walker (USA) – Bravo – 13.2% – Imperial Brown Ale
Originally named after an experimental variety of hops but now brewed with US grown Fuggles which are earthy and resinous. A lean, simple barley wine brewed to showcase barrel flavors with massive bourbon barrel notes that morph as the -beer warms in the glass.
Tilquin (Belgium) – Oude Gueuze Tilquin a L’ancienne – Lambic – 6.4%
A Beautiful classic Gueuze, aroma is fruity and citrusy to slight grapefruity. Tastes slightly acidic with a lingering sweet fruity impression and a crisp dry citric fruit finish.
Kernel (London) – Imperial Brown Stout – Imperial Stout – 10.3%
One of my favourites, pours with a dark brown head & smells of roasted caramel. Bitter, light fruity, toffee caramelish and light liqourice flavoured.
